AQUAMON results on the use of the LoRa technology in aquatic environments were recently published on the Sensors journal (MDPI). The paper is available in Open Access on the Journal web site. The results, obtained from several experimental campaigns in the Seixal Bay, show the critical importance of the location of sensor nodes for achieving reliable communication. The paper also shows that tides must be taken into account when positioning the nodes, because at low heights the variability of the node height in relation to the water level strongly influences the communication quality.
